My work, mostly consisting of detailed portraits, shows differing facial expressions. They tell many different stories: how they were treated, what they might feel, who they are. A lot of them show pain or have an empty, complacent look. This leaves the viewer with the impression that the subjects of the portraits could have been mistreated. Emotional abuse happens without consent and most victims of thus forget their worth and stay in a situation where their consent and boundaries are not valued. My work often represents the beauty of “ghosts in shells”.
